Eímear Noone


Eímear Noone is a Los Angeles and Galway-based conductor, composer, and producer internationally recognized as one of the leading voices in contemporary film, television, and video game music. As one of the world’s premier game music composers and conductors, she is renowned for her iconic work on World of Warcraft and numerous best-selling game franchises, helping shape soundscapes experienced by more than 100 million players worldwide over the past two decades. Her work has received widespread critical acclaim, including the Hollywood Music in Media Award for Best Video Game Score.

A frequent creative collaborator with award-winning composer and producer Craig Stuart Garfinkle, Eímear has co-created music for film, television, live performance, and interactive media projects that blend large-scale orchestral storytelling with cinematic and emotional depth. Their collaborations include concert productions, film scores, game music, and multimedia works performed internationally.

Most recently, Eímear and Craig Stuart Garfinkle won the 2026 Irish Film & Television Academy (IFTA) Award for Best Original Score for the acclaimed Irish feature Báite, further cementing their reputation as two of Ireland’s leading contemporary screen composers. Their recent projects also include the animated feature film The Canterville Ghost, starring Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie, Channel 5’s acclaimed drama series Maxine, and the animated feature Two by Two: Overboard!, which topped the UK box office and earned an Ivor Novello nomination for Best Original Film Score.

In addition to her own scores, Eímear has collaborated with some of the industry’s most celebrated filmmakers and composers. She has orchestrated for Academy Award nominee Javier Navarrete (Pan’s Labyrinth) and contributed music to projects by directors including Gus Van Sant and Joe Dante, creating emotionally resonant and atmospheric orchestral work for films such as Mirrors and The Hole.

As a conductor, Eímear performs with many of the world’s leading orchestras, including the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Philadelphia Orchestra, BBC Concert Orchestra, Singapore Symphony Orchestra, Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, Sydney Symphony Orchestra, and Danish National Symphony Orchestra. In 2020, she made history as the first woman ever to conduct at the Academy Awards ceremony, leading the orchestra during the 92nd Oscars broadcast.

A pioneering figure in live game music performance, Eímear was selected by Nintendo to conduct the first-ever 3D filmed game score recording and has conducted recording sessions for Sony Interactive Entertainment. She toured internationally with The Legend of Zelda: Symphony of the Goddesses, conducting the landmark four-movement symphony based on Nintendo’s legendary franchise, including the record-breaking 25th Anniversary concert recordings.

Beyond film and games, Eímear continues to create ambitious original productions that merge orchestral music, storytelling, and cultural history. In 2023, she premiered Daughters of the Pirate Queen: The Spirit of Grace O’Malley at Ireland’s National Concert Hall as part of International Women’s Day celebrations. The sold-out production, attended by President Michael D. Higgins, featured many of Ireland’s leading female artists and celebrated the life and legacy of the legendary pirate queen Gráinne Mhaol.

A passionate advocate for women in music, technology, and the arts, Eímear is also a sought-after speaker, broadcaster, and media personality. She regularly appears at international conferences and serves as the presenter of High Score on Classic FM, bringing video game music to mainstream audiences around the world.
